This ten session course covers the major themes and topics related to Faith (Iman). It aims to introduce students to fundamental texts pertaining to belief, understand the principles that govern this topic, and the scholarly discussions surrounding them. Each of the six (6) fundamentals of faith will be covered in detail, along with first order principles of faith, foundational texts, evolution of this area of study, pedagogical texts throughout Islamic History used to teach the topic, as well as other supporting issues such as the status of the Prophet's companions and the role of character in building faith.

About the Instructor:

Joe Bradford is an American scholar of Islam. He holds a Master of Islamic Law from the University of Medina, and has studied traditionally in the Muslim world for the past 20+ years. Working as an Ethical Finance Advisor to individuals and institutions, Joe is one of the few experts on issues involving Muslims and Finance in North America. He teaches and volunteers in his locality, and is active in supporting social services for Muslims.
