Join us as we create a community of learners who will learn, pray, and socialize together for 4 weeks in the summer focusing on foundational Islamic knowledge.

Description:

The Prophet ﷺ said, “Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.” In this hadith, the Prophet ﷺ is referring to knowledge that brings one closer to Allah ﷻ, nurtures love for the Prophet ﷺ, improves one’s character, cleanses their heart, and increases their understanding of Islam leading towards practice. Actively seeking this type of knowledge is an obligation upon each and every single one of us. We have to learn enough about our beautiful way of life that will allow us to worship our Creator properly with understanding. The goal of this intensive is to provide students with an introduction and foundational understanding of three major Islamic disciplines in the company of other students and local scholars:

  1. Sirah (Biography of the Prophet ﷺ)
  2. The Forty Hadith of al-Imam al-Nawawi
  3. Tazkiyah (Spirituality)

In collaboration with Islamic Center of San Diego

With Instructors: Shaykh Taha Hassane, Shaykh Furhan Zubairi, Shaykh Zaid Khan, Shaykh Ahmed Billoo, Ustadh Asim Billoo, Shaykh Umer Khan

Who is it for?

The Summer Ilm Intensive is ideal for high school and college students as well as adults. Through the intensive we want to create a community of learners who will learn, pray, and socialize together for 4 weeks in the summer.

  • Mondays: Life of the Messenger ﷺ w/ Sh. Taha Hassane
  • Tuesdays: Al-Nawawi’s 40 Hadith w/ Sh. Taha Hassane
  • Wednesdays: Purification of the Heart w/ Guest Shaykh from IOK
  • Thursdays: Study Circles at The Cafe w/ Ustadh Asim Billoo

Amenities

  • Open gym for sisters 5:00 - 6:00 PM
  • Open gym for brothers 9:30 - 10:30 PM
  • Cafe will be open daily during break
