This course is based on the primer of Islamic Jurisprudence, Ascent to Felicity (Marāqi Al-Sa‘ādāt), written by the 11th century Hanafī jurist Abu Al-Ikhlās Al-Shurunbulālī. The sessions will cover a detailed explanation of all of the issues related to purification and prayer and their everyday application. Students will gain a deeper and more nuanced understanding of issues related to wudhu, ghusl and all the different legal aspects of prayer.
