This 9-week course offers an immersive, reflective, and textually grounded journey through one of the most profound chapters of the Qur’an—Sūrah al-Kahf—using In the Company of the Quran: A Commentary on Surah al-Kahf as the primary textbook.
Title: QRN-105 An Exploration of Sūrah al-Kahf
Instructor: Shaykh Dr. Furhan Zubairi
Date: March 28, 2026 - May 30, 2026
Day: Saturdays
Time: 9AM-11AM
Location: IOK (1009 Via Sorella, Diamond Bar, CA 91789)
Course Description:
This class is designed for students seeking more than a surface-level explanation of the Qur’an. Together, we will explore Sūrah al-Kahf verse by verse through a balanced approach that integrates classical tafsīr, thematic analysis, and spiritual reflection (tadabbur)—bridging scholarly insight with lived relevance.
Sūrah al-Kahf speaks directly to the trials of faith, knowledge, power, and material success—challenges that are as urgent today as they were at the time of revelation. Through its four central narratives—the Companions of the Cave, the owner of the two gardens, Mūsā and al-Khaḍir, and Dhū al-Qarnayn—the sūrah offers a Qur’anic framework for navigating confusion, doubt, arrogance, and moral complexity in modern life.
Course Outcomes:
- A deeper understanding of Sūrah al-Kahf’s structure, themes, and objectives
- Exposure to classical and contemporary tafsīr insights, presented accessibly
- A practical methodology for tadabbur—reflective engagement with the Qur’an
- Tools to connect Qur’anic guidance to personal growth, ethics, and worldview
- A renewed relationship with the Qur’an as a source of clarity, balance, and meaning
This course is ideal for everyone seeking to sit “in the company of the Qur’an” with intentionality, depth, and purpose. No prior background in tafsīr is required—only a sincere desire to understand Allah’s words more deeply and allow them to shape one’s life.
Price: $120
