Participants will come to see the interconnection between America’s eras of growth and “Black Islam,” developing an idea of Islam’s past among African-Americans using it to inform them of its current and, perhaps, future condition.

Learn to examine culture and communication from different perspectives and consider various factors that affect cultural, racial, ethnic and gender lines as well as issues like identities, values, beliefs, assumptions, and worldviews.
Look at Intercultural Communication with respect to identity, further issues related to verbal and non-verbal communication, popular culture, conflict, and a look into applied Intercultural Communication in certain settings such as in education, religion, business, and health care.
In an effort to improve our spirituality, rationale, and identity, this course attempts to explore the socio-political realities of Islamic history.
